I only have about 17 still-in-the-works posts to finish - eek! I really need to get caught up. Luckily Mom is coming this week so hopefully I'll have a chance to post and recap the last few weeks. So many funny pictures and updates.
I love to compare first and last day of school photos. Please check out my precious little bowl-headed infant Sam headed off to preschool. I can hardly take the baby-ness of this photo next to the one that follows.
Can this be the same child? Oh mercy me. Big boy haircut, standing tall and proud.
And thanks to continued thumb sucking, his gap has also grown together significantly. #Winning.
Luckily, Mary Ella didn't change all too much. In fact, she actually looks a little younger in her 'last day' photo thanks to me being scissor-happy with those curls over the winter.
(But the walls and chalkboard frame seem to have changed; imagine that!)
Here they are together, clearly sick of the photo shoot and ready for their chicken minis, since we woke up late and ran out the door as fast as we could and made photos a priority over breakfast.
Here's a cute and easy teacher gift that we gave our office workers this year; Miss Sharon, Miss Kathy and Miss Celeste go above and beyond to make sure our little ones are where they need to be and well taken care of, and our school would not be the same without them! We didn't want them to feel left out so I bought them each just a plastic tumbler from Walmart, used my silhouette to cut out their names in a cute font, and used some cute tissue paper as filler; we filled them with a fun lip gloss, a notepad, some fruit-flavored gum and added a tag with the plastic sunglasses clips from Target dollar aisle. Just a little 'happy' for the ladies that do all the behind-the-scenes work at our little school.
Sam gave these pinwheels to his class. Just printed a small picture of him and a little note (made via PicMonkey) and tied them together. Pinwheels also from Target dollar aisle.
We gave Sam's teachers each a Tervis Tumbler with their initials on it and a Target gift card.
Mary Ella's teacher received a bucket of fun summer goodies - Essie polish, Emmy-Jay hair ties, lip gloss, and a gift card for a pedicure.
We've always been blessed to have the BEST teachers. Every year it seems the Lord gives them exactly what they need. They are so good to my kids and they love them like their own children.
We celebrated the end of school the only way we know how to celebrate: with sweets. Cupcakes from Edgar's. Sam was thrilled about his ladybug cupcake.
That night we went to Mary Ella's program. Here are the 2 sisters afterwards. I forgot to take my camera and phone to the program, so no pictures.
And after we got home, Mary Ella requested an End-of-the-Year pajama dance party. And so we allowed our friend Pandora to provide some jammin Disney tunes and we went crazy.
This girl's got moves.
The next morning Mary Ella's class had their end of the year party at the bowling alley, or 'the bowling pin alley' as Mary Ella calls it. This was her first time to bowl and she LOVED it.
It was fun to spend this one-on-one time with her and see her interact with her little friends.
Last picture of the whole gang with our Ms. Staci! We will miss her next year!
More [rewind] posts coming soon!
