Remember the ol' guest room?
Twas a lonely, drab and not-so-welcoming room when we first moved in...
Then, if you remember, last year I moved some curtains down there and added a few hand made touches... a painting, some decoupaged artwork in thrift store frames, a spray painted lamp, the old bedding from when Sam's room was an extra bedroom... you get it. Stuff I had on hand or made (for the most part).
I painted it yellow a few months back and it was just wayyy too much. So much that I kept the door closed and never even took one single picture of the room in that color. It was bad.
So I recently called in my friend Sara.
She's one of my dearest and closest friends and she has an unbelievable and, in my opinion, unmatched talent in interior design. She's smart, she makes the most out of every space (with light, paint, staging, furniture placement, you name it), and she hunts high and low to find the absolute BEST deals.
I gave her a budget, and she's been working on this room for a few weeks now. She came over tonight and stayed for 5 hours; I was not allowed to go downstairs. Imagine my surprise when I walked into this gorgeous space:
Shut the front door!
I mean, seriously.
I am going to take another picture tomorrow in the natural light so that you can look at it again.
Because that's all I want to do - look at it again and again and again.
I could not be happier with this room and now I'm jealous and want to stay there myself. I told her I was going to instigate a fight with Chad so that he would kick me out and I'd have to stay in the guest room. :) I kid, people. But it's that pretty.
One more look:
Sara is going to be back here soon to do a guest post on all the ins and outs and details!
And if you want her info please let me know!
In the mean time, I'm taking reservations. :)
