Saw this today on FaceBook and am gonna share it here too. I think you'll have to copy and paste the link below to see it because I'm blogging from my phone.
It's basically an article addressing the whole Magic Mike/50 Shades agenda. I am not one to get on a soap box or purposely open a can of worms, and I am certainly not trying to do that now, but I think Melissa speaks the truth here. I am downright scared of raising my daughters in this world we are living in today - how do we protect them from things like this? (And I was naive and had no idea what Magic Mike was about until a few days ago; and even then I had no idea Channing Tatum was in the movie. Boo. I have liked him in other movies but this just makes me sad.) Anyway, I think Melissa shares some good thoughts here and backs all of them with scripture too... And the scripture is challenging for me in all areas as a mom, not just in what movies I see and what books I read. But in how I spend my time with my kids; how I spend my time without them; how I speak to my husband, how I act when something doesn't necessarily go my way or when I'm stressed to the core or dont have the energy to change another diaper or open another pack of gummies or fold another pair of pants. I just found it to be very encouraging as a mom and as a wife. Marriage is so fragile anyway these days, with the worlds distractions and the stresses that it brings; we need to try our very best to protect our spouses and our children. They are His, after all.
