I love days like today. Not too cold. Pouring rain. Nothing on the schedule. Ahhhhhh.
Kids are playing in Sam's room. The washing machine and dishwasher are running. I'm drinking a Diet Mountain Dew in place of my morning decaf. And I might have eaten an oatmeal pie for breakfast.
I'm excited about February. It's a short month (even though this is leap year, it's still a shorter month.) Which means hopefully it will go by just as fast as January did, and then I'll only have ONE MONTH until this baby arrives. Not trying to rush things along, but you know, when you reach the 30 week point, you're pretty much over it. (Being pregnant, I mean.) I'm trying to savor it the best I can but it's difficult with 2 other little ones. Some days I feel like I literally can't catch my breath! Funny how a tiny human can totally take over your entire body; your breathing, your eating, your sleeping... pretty much all the important stuff. I'm excited about cuddling a new sleepy baby... I can't wait, actually. Hopefully we'll have some quiet rainy days like today in April. (Not that my house would ever be considered 'quiet' by the normal standard.)
Speaking of baby, I gave Wendy a load of baby stuff to monogram last night. With baby's new name. Yes I said new name. Because I changed the baby's name 72 hours ago. More on that later. But some monogramming should make it pretty official, right?? :)
Mary Ella's Valentines Day party is this month and we're gonna try to make some home made Valentines one day to hand out to her class.
Addie Jane is coming for the weekend to stay with us. Mary Ella has asked every morning if it is Friday yet. They haven't seen each other since Christmas so I'm sure the weekend will be full of baby dolls and dress up and Easy Bake Oven time. Addie Jane turns 4 this month! This year we'll get to celebrate Addie Jane's birthday on her ACTUAL birthday - February 29th - sweet little Leap Day baby.
I made this Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ chicken from Pinterest twice last week. Yep, twice. It is divine.
Recipe: chicken breasts, 1 bottle BBQ sauce, 1/4 cup vinegar, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 tsp each of garlic powder and red pepper flake. Crockpot. Low 4-6 hours or a couple hours longer is you use frozen chicken.
It is DELISH.
I'm reading this book right now:
I like it so far - very thought provoking. Definitely has me thinking and praying about how/where I want my kids to be educated. If you've read it I'd love to hear your thoughts!
I printed this "Magical Morning" daily checklist from Pinterest too. I try not to get bogged down if I don't do everything on the list but hey, it's a cute list, it keeps me focused, and I've enjoyed attempting to make my morning somewhat magical. :) There are lots of cute ideas on this blog source too.
Have you seen this February "Photo a Day" challenge? Well, in addition to my Project 365 photos I'm gonna try to do this too just for fun. It's just one picture; surely I can manage.
Here's my view today (well, the view from the back porch.) The rain has created a small river in the woods.
Ok, I better get back to laundry and motherhood. Looking forward to church tonight.
Hope everyone has a happy 'hump' day and a blessed February.
