Love this time of year. Here are pictures from Easter weekend.
We dyed Easter eggs.
We tied in some learning about the letter E. For Easter, eggs, excellent, REEEEses' eggs, etc. You know.
We got tattoos.
And we got "egged."
We were visited by a bunny.
We wondered why our Mom was taking so many pictures so early in the morning.
And why it didn't stop all. day. long.
But Mom said if we smiled real pretty and sat still during big church we could go dye eggs again. So we were real good.
And after church we went to MeMama's and had more egg dyeing fun and 33 egg hunts with our cousins Brooks and Case.
The boy cousins.
Also known as Snaggle Tooth...
And BooBoo Chicken.
Sam got some swingin' time with Ace.
Then Uncle Jason took him on his own private egg hunt.
Mary Ella made this face every time she found an egg. As if she'd found a treasure. (And as if there were only ONE egg as opposed to dozens. Clearly focused on quality, not quantity.)
Sam made this face all day. Cause he is wondering what these 2 new teeth are all about.
Then everyone counted their eggs to see who'd won.
Everyone except Mary Ella, who was furiously shaking every egg, then unwrapping and gobbling up every piece of chocolate in sight. That's my girl.
We tried to get a group shot of all the kiddos, but you know how that goes. A little something like this...
And most importantly, we learned what Easter is all about.
And surprisingly enough, it's not about the eggs, or the bunny, or the smocked outfits that we can't wait to show our friends. It's not about the candy prizes or the monogrammed basket liners or the bright decorations.
It's about a cross.
And a grave.
And six words that bring us Hope. Peace. And victory over death.
Praise God for giving us this perfect lamb, Jesus Christ. Our sins are FORGIVEN! He has conquered the grave! And as my sweet toddler puts it in this video,
JESUS.... IS.... ALIVE!!!!
Be blessed, my friends!
