Well, it's been pretty rainy around here this weekend, so we haven't been able to get out and enjoy the sunshine like we would normally do on a long weekend at home. But it's been fun, nonetheless.
Friday morning it was blistering hot and I just didn't think I could put in another 3-4 hours at the pool, so we stayed in and Mary Ella helped me dust. I also changed out some of the pictures in my picture frames and I am glad I did because I'm enjoying the change of "scenery." On Friday afternoon we ventured to the Pelham WalMart because they were going to be getting 8 of the iPhone 3GS's in on their afternoon shipment. I had decided to go the iPhone route after hearing about the WalMart $97 deal. Well apparently about 7,892 other people decided it was a good deal too because literally EVERY Walmart from Florence down to Opelika was sold out. I couldn't believe the Pelham Walmart happened to be the one that was actually getting a shipment. I got there right at 2pm and claimed my phone, and by the time I left all 8 of them were GONE. Seriously! But I love, love, love it. When I started writing this post I asked Chad what we did Friday night and he said, "Me and Mary Ella played kitchen and you just sat there and played with your iPhone." I kept wishing someone would call or text me so I could use it, but had no luck. Come on, people! I didn't actually learn how to place a call until yesterday afternoon (thanks, Jamie) so now I'm good to go.
Yesterday morning we cooked breakfast at home (biscuits, gravy, sausage and eggs!) and enjoyed a lazy morning; our last lazy morning as a family of three. Then I decided that our kitchen cabinets needed organizing. Which turned into Chad standing on a stool rearranging and reconfiguring the contents of EVERY kitchen cabinet while I stood there and watched and changed my mind a dozen or so times in the process. (I'm telling you, if you've ever been pregnant you know what I'm talking about, but this Nesting Syndrome is NOT a joke; it can totally take over at any given moment.)
By the time we were finished my back was killing me (never mind my husband's, ha!) so I went to get my pedicure. And although the hospital rules state you need to have clear polish on your toes for surgery, I totally rebelled and chose Electric Coral. And they can remove it if they so choose. I only get pedicures once in a blue moon, and by golly I wasn't paying for no CLEAR POLISH. No way.
The electric coral only seemed to ignite my nesting disorder and so, as if the cabinet madness wasn't enough, we then decided to go nest at Jamie's house across the street. Jamie is due in mid October with a little boy! We are so excited. Mary Ella got in on the fun and helped Les put their crib together, suffering only one minor injury when she pinched herself with the pliers. Then we went home and we all relaxed before going to bed.
Today we're going over to grill out at Chad's parents so I'm sure I'll have pictures by the end of the weekend. I need to drop the iPhone and pick up my camera at some point.
