We have a queen-sized bed that we both love. It was Chad's bed before we got married; he bought it at the Pottery Barn outlet and it's comfy and perfect... for a couple. Since we are moving into the "Family of Four" category, we thought it was time to start looking for the big King. Although we definitely don't plan on our kids sleeping with us, I'm sure there will be many cartoon Saturdays and many stormy nights when we find munchkins crawling into our bed. And right now we just don't have room for that. So we're going king-size.
We found a bed today at Alabama Furniture Market in Calera - have you been there? We were told about it by some friends and then my brother-in-law reminded me about the place today at Brooks' baseball game. They aren't really an outlet, but their prices are MUCH better than those you'd find at places like Ashley, Thomasville, Haverty's, etc. (I'm sure some would argue with me here, but from the beds we've researched, this is the case.) And their bedding... ohhhh the bedding. Made me want to redo every room in my house! If you are in the market for new furniture I would definitely recommend this place! Their baby and kids' section is stocked full of gorgeous blankets, quilts, frames and decorative items. The baby bedding was to die for as well.
Our bed was out of stock so they are going to order it and it should be here in month or less! We'll move our bed down to the guest room; that's another reason we wanted to upgrade. Our guest room bed is currently a full size and both the mattress and bedframe have been in my family forEVER, and thus are very squeaky and rickety. I always feel sorry for whoever has to sleep down there. But now our guests should be good to go; queen sized bed, pillow-top mattress, mini fridge, and our downstairs TV room is right next door. Maybe we should start charging. Hmmmm. :)
