Only 6 weeks to go! The countdown is on! And here are a couple of fantastic belly shots just for you.
I had my 33-week appointment this morning and everything looks good! My blood sugars have all been less than 100 (which is perfect; they want them under 140) and I am measuring right on time. Although I feel like Baby Sam is HUGE, and I am always telling the doctor this, I am beginning to think maybe I just don't remember that pregnancy will always make you feel huge. Maybe he really isn't that big. With Mary Ella, I was ALWAYS measuring 2-3 weeks ahead and although I didn't THINK I was swollen, I now know that I was, because I've been wearing shoes that I couldn't wear with her and nearly all of my old maternity shirts are too big. Plus I am still about 7-8 pounds less than what I weighed with her at this point. I'm still not entirely convinced, just because of my history ( remember, she was 9 and a half pounds!) but we'll know for sure in about 11 days, because I go back on May 3rd for a growth ultrasound. We'll see just how big this little boy is or isn't. After my May 3rd visit I will go to the doctor every week until he gets here. Still don't have a set c-section date; will probably get that at my next visit.
I am 90% DONE with the nursery! All we lack is the curtains and my grandmother has graciously agreed to make them for me; I am afraid I will mess them up if I attempt it and my fabric budget has long expired. So Grandmother Ann to the rescue! And just so you can imagine them in his room, they will be long (because the room gets TONS of sun and I need something to make it dark for naptime). They are going to be lime green at the very top and then black and white polka-dotted the rest of the way down. And they will probably hang on rings so that I can scoot them about easily. I bought a black curtain rod at Ross for $14.99!
So here is what the room looks like now...
The Craigs List changing table is holding up well, even though my 21-month old chimpanzee climbs on it daily.
I finally found some black baskets at Ikea for $4.99 each; these same size baskets at Target were $12.99 each so that tells you how CHEAP Ikea can be!
Mom found this Cynthia Rowley baby blanket at TJ Maxx for $10 and it matches perfectly! And I found the zebra print blanket at Ross for $5.99. The glider was originally in Mary Ella's nursery. The floor lamp is another Ikea find at $19.99.
This letter "S" and keepsake box are made of a heavy cardboard; you get them for about $1 each at Hobby Lobby or any craft store. Mom cut out squares of scrapbook paper that matched the nursery and decoupaged (is that a word?) them onto the letter and box.
I am going to shoot myself for not having a BEFORE picture of this shelf! I bought it at Kids Market for $25. It's made of real wood and it's the perfect size for this room. However, when I bought it, it looked like a rectangular Easter egg. Every shelf was a different color and it was all pastel; if you can imagine, think yellow, then purple, then blue, then pink, then pastel green, all the way down. HIDEOUS. I thought I'd taken a picture of it before I painted it, but I can't find it anywhere! I painted it black and am slowly filling it with keepsakes and books and pictures.
And I love this picture. Mom bought this for me at SonShine Market, a craft show that took place at her church. I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the girl who does these prints, but she does such a great job! His name is in the middle and the outline of the bunny rabbit is actually a hand-written Bible verse, part of Psalm 139 - "I am fearfully and wonderfully made..." over and over again! Precious! And I love the cotton tail. This is my favorite thing.
Well, that's it for now! Hope everyone has a blessed weekend!
