Long overdue, but a quick update. We have moved out to Pelham and we love our house. Lucy seems to love it too, and she'll love it even more when we get our fenced in backyard! But it's nice to have the big deck - she can go in and out as she pleases and she loves sitting outside watching the birds and squirrels - something we didn't get the luxury of doing when we lived at Acton Park. We enjoy going on walks in our neighborhood and have met many of our neighbors. Seems like everyone on our street has a child under age 5! It's crazy. You can drive up the street any given day and be surrounded with Moms pushing their strollers or pulling their kids in a wagon. It's really great. Makes me even more excited about being at home with the baby!
And speaking of the baby... it's a GIRL! We found out at our 20-week appointment. Actually, I found out. I convinced Chad that he didn't have to go to the appointment, because he had tons of work to do to get ready for his new job, so he reluctantly allowed me to go by myself. The ultrasound went really well and at the end, the lady said, "Ok, are you ready to go between the legs??" I actually told her that we were going to wait and let it be a surprise. She had an ultrasound student there with her and she asked if I'd mind if they turned the screen away from me and let the student find the sex organs, just to practice. They promised they'd keep their mouths shut and they did. But I couldn't stand the fact that they were able to see the sex of my baby! So I said, "Well, just let me look." And I did. And I knew immediately that it was a girl. I was really excited! It made the pregnancy seem even more real. And ever since it's been really hard not to buy everything in sight! There are so many cute pink things that I would love to just snatch up right away! But I know better, so I've been pretty good about waiting. Gary and Debbie were sweet enough to buy us our crib. It's a white sleigh crib. And my parents are getting us the changing table. We are so thankful for these gifts because it really helps us out. We have painted the nursery hot pink already and my lime green glider looks GREAT in her room.
As far as names are concerned, we really aren't sure what we'll call her yet. We literally have a list of 5 or 6 names, most family names, that we will probably just take with us to the hospital and decide when she gets here. I'm super excited though. And Chad is too. I can't believe he'll be a Daddy soon! It's crazy. I can't wait to see him holding his baby girl. He's going to be such a great dad.
Other than that, nothing else is new. I am looking forward to my best friends' Katie and Lauren getting married. Katie's wedding is May 31st and Lauren's is October 4th. So I'll be FAT in one wedding and hopefully in decent shape for the next - haha. I can't believe that they will be married soon. I've known them both since I was 5 years old. Crazy, crazy.
I need to update more often, I know.
Chad is out of town for nearly the entire month. He left this morning for training. So hopefully being alone will help with the updates. I miss him so much already.
